South Sudan Crisis

Help families from war-torn, famine-affected South Sudan.

The Situation

Famine declared in parts of South Sudan

War has ravished South Sudan for the past three years and as a result, 1.5million South Sudanese civilians have fled to refugee camps.

An estimated 100,000 people who have stayed in South Sudan, are now facing starvation, with a million more on the brink of famine.

More than 20 million people may face starvation in a series of famines over the next six months.

– World Food Programme (WFP)

The impact of the three-year conflict, combined with high food prices, economic disruption and low agricultural production has resulted in the UN declaring famine in Unity State, South Sudan.

Tearfund is responding. Your generous donation can bring hope and help to ease the suffering of affected families.
